I remember the first time, as a journalist, I wrote a story that upset some people. I remember it because I felt some of those folks were friends and their anger stung. I was naïve then. I didn't realize that being a bearer of bad news, or messages people don't want to receive, somehow makes you a part of the message or some nefarious plot in their minds.
